A Port Authority employee who was charged with reselling used bus tickets has pleaded guilty and entered a program for nonviolent first offenders.
James R. Taylor, 42, a maintenance worker at the Collier garage, was charged in June with theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy after police found 2,800 bus tickets in his book bag while he met with a man they suspected of reselling the tickets. The conspiracy charge was later withdrawn.
Mr. Taylor entered the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program in a proceeding before Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Gallo last month. The program allows offenders to clear their record after serving probation. In addition to 18 months' probation, he was ordered to pay more than $6,700 in fines and restitution, according to court records. The Port Authority fired him.
