Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition to honor neighborhood treasures

The Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and will hold its second annual "treasures" dinner next Thursday to celebrate selected people and places that enrich the neighborhood.

This year's honorees are Deborah Fidel, executive director of the Pittsburgh Area Jewish Committee; artist Robert Qualters; the Manor Theater; and the staff of the Carnegie Library Squirrel Hill branch.

The dinner is at 6 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Golf Club in Schenley Park. Tickets are $90 per person. For information: 412-422-7666 or info@shuc.org. To attend, respond by today.
