Slain man identified by medical examiner

The medical examiner's office has identified a 24-year-old man who was shot to death in the Hill District Wednesday night.
Montrell Green, who had recently moved to the North Side, was shot once in the head in a courtyard in the 2400 block of Bedford Avenue shortly after he visited his grandmother.
Medics pronounced Mr. Green dead at the scene in the Bedford Dwellings housing complex at 10:28 p.m.
Witnesses had not come forward as of late Thursday night. Officers plan to review surveillance footage taken near the scene in an effort to develop suspects. A motive for the shooting has not been established.
