Pittsburgh police on Tuesday released a sketch of the man suspected of slashing a bicyclist's throat on the South Side last week.
Colin Albright, 25, told police he was riding his bike home from work on Wednesday when he may have cut off a car on the Hot Metal Bridge.
About 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, a tall, slender white man in his 20s or 30s with dark hair and a receding hairline followed Mr. Albright up the city steps near Josephine Street and stabbed him multiple times before slashing his throat, Pittsburgh police major crimes unit Lt. Kevin Kraus said in a news release.
Surveillance footage shows that the attacker parked a small sedan, possibly a silver or gray 2002 Mercury Cougar, at the bottom of the steps, followed Mr. Albright up the steps and then retreated again to the car.
Mr. Albright continues to recover from stab wounds to his arms, neck and head and the throat slashing, the lieutenant said.
Lt. Kraus asked anyone with information about the suspect or the stabbing to call city homicide detectives at 412-323-7161.
