Pittsburgh city Councilman Bill Peduto and Shadyside Action Coalition are seeking designs for four new bicycle corrals to be installed on neighborhood streets.

Mr. Peduto on Monday released a call for proposals and set an entry deadline of Sept. 7. Contest guidelines may be found at www.pittsburghpa.gov/district8. Entries may be sent to shadyside.bike.corral@gmail.com.

The corrals will be installed on Walnut Street and Ellsworth and South Highland avenues.

Entries will be judged partly on artistic merit and technical specifications; each corral should be able to accommodate 10 to 12 bicycles. A winner will be selected this fall.
