Route 28 inbound ramp to Veterans Bridge closing

Route 28 commuters will face a new obstacle starting Wednesday night, as the inbound ramp to the Veterans Bridge will be closed for rehabilitation.
The around-the-clock closure begins at 8 p.m. and is scheduled to continue until late this month, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The detour calls for exiting at East Ohio Street; turning right onto Madison Avenue; continuing north to East Street and crossing over the Parkway North; and turning right at Venture Street to reach the southbound on-ramp to the parkway. Police will assist with traffic control during peak periods.
