Pittsburgh police are asking for assistance in locating a man they say robbed the First National Bank in Mt. Washington on Tuesday afternoon.

After being told to remove a scarf by a teller at the Wyoming Street bank, the man told the teller to put money in a blue bag with black handles, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said in a press release.

The man, who was reported to have a small silver automatic gun, then demanded the same of a second teller, police said, and left the bank on foot toward Jennie Street with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police said a "vague description" was provided: "black male, 5'11" - 6'1", medium-heavy build, wearing a large bulky light colored coat possibly beige with a black scarf, black tossel hat, black gloves and sunglasses."

Contact the robbery squad at 412-323-7151 with information. Callers may remain anonymous.
