Police are asking the public to help them identify two suspects in a shooting that killed two people on Race Street in Homewood this summer.

Investigators yesterday released video footage from school security cameras that shows two men driving down Baxter Street in a SUV. They then leave the vehicle and walk through a wooded area to the 7600 block of Race Street, where the shooting occurred on the evening of July 31.

Gunfire from an assault rifle killed 43-year-old Keith Grace, who was sitting in a truck at the time, and 45-year-old Freeman Mitchell. The video doesn't capture the shooting, but it shows the suspects running back to the SUV and fleeing down Baxter Street.

Police also are asking for help with identifying the SUV. Anyone with information can call the homicide squad at 412-323-7161.
