Police probe fatal shooting this morning

A 21-year-old man was fatally shot this morning in the East Hills.

The victim was identified as Demaun Kenny of Duquesne.

A second person sustained a hand injury and was taken to West Penn Hospital, Bloomfield, an emergency dispatch supervisor said.

Pittsburgh Police Lt. Daniel Herrmann, in a news release, reported that the incident began at 3:05 a.m. when East Hills Security said that a few rounds had been fired at their office building on Wilner Drive.

About an hour later, while police were collecting evidence, officers heard more shots from about 100 yards away on East Hills Drive. Upon investigation, Mr. Kenny was found lying motionless on the kitchen floor of his residence. The news release noted he was shot multiple times with a semi-automatic pistol. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:25 a.m.
