Police officer hit by car on South Side

A man was charged with driving under the influence after hitting a police officer with his car on the South Side tonight.
An Allegheny County dispatcher said the call came in around 11:30 p.m. that the officer had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 14th and Carson Street. The officer was not seriously injured.
No further information was immediately available.
