Pittsburgh police met with the Allegheny County district attorney's office today to discuss an abduction report in East Hills that turned out to be a hoax.

"We met with the district attorney's office, and we're continuing the investigation," major crimes Lt. Kevin Kraus said.

More information will be released when the investigation is completed in the coming days, he said.

A 13-year-old girl called 911 Tuesday afternoon and said she witnessed the abduction of a teenage girl. Police later determined that her report was false.

Pittsburgh police, Penn Hills police, the Allegheny County sheriff's office and the FBI responded to the scene to investigate, Lt. Kraus said in a press release.
