Pittsburgh police are investigating after a man robbed the Citizens Bank on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill today.

It was at least the third time in nine days that someone has robbed a bank in the neighborhood.

Sgt. Lavonnie Bickerstaff said in a news release that a man walked into the bank in the 1800 block of Murray Avenue about 1:45 p.m. today, placed a note on the counter and demanded money. She said the suspect is a white man who is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. Police estimate that he is between 30 and 35 years old. He was wearing a black jacket, gray hoodie, and a dark cap with a Steelers logo.

Pittsburgh police arrested 18-year-old Yamin Harris, formerly of the West End and East Liberty, in connection with a robbery at the First National Bank near the intersection of Murray Avenue and Beacon Street on Wednesday. They are searching for Joseph Guiney, 33, of Greenfield, in connection with a robbery at the First Niagara Bank in Squirrel Hill on Oct. 31.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Robbery Squad at 412-323-7151.
