A man posing as an intern and in possession of legal files that had recently gone missing was arrested Wednesday at the Allegheny County Courthouse, police said.

When sheriff's deputies stopped Josh Aaron Dowell-Miller, 19, of Monroeville in the courthouse, he was in possession of several files from a downtown law firm, for which he said he was an intern, the sheriff's office said in a press release.

The files were for civil cases, police said, which are not heard at the courthouse.

The law firm said Mr. Dowell-Miller was not an intern and that the case files had recently gone missing, police said. Police said he had visited the firm "under false pretenses" and had to be escorted from the building.

Mr. Dowell-Miller is being charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, police said. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and will be arraigned Thursday morning, police said.
