Pittsburgh school facilities closed tonight

Pittsburgh Public Schools has canceled all after-school activities for tonight, in preparation for severe weather expected from Hurricane Sandy.
The cancellations include club meetings, athletic games and practices, and community events that meet in school buildings.
Schools will be dismissed today at the regular time. Parents should contact individual schools with any questions, the district said.
Pittsburgh school district officials are monitoring the weather and will determine whether more cancellations are necessary throughout the day today.
