A Pittsburgh firefighter was arraigned this morning on charges that he indecently assaulted two underage girls.
Martin Flora, 48, of Sheraden, faces charges of indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful contact with a minor.
He is in the Allegheny County Jail on $200,000 bail.
Pittsburgh police wrote in a criminal complaint that two people told them Mr. Flora inappropriately touched them while they were underage.
Fire Chief Darryl Jones said he was notified of the arrest this morning and Mr. Flora, who joined the bureau in 2001, has been suspended pending the outcome of a meeting of a trial board, which hands out discipline within the department.
Mr. Flora was assigned to Fire Station No. 29 in Westwood.
"We can't do anything because firefighter Flora has a right to due process," the chief said.
He said the behavior alleged is "against all that we stand for" in the bureau.
