Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl has reappointed Councilman Ricky Burgess to the Pittsburgh Housing Authority, the councilman's office said today.

Mr. Burgess is the authority chairman and has been on the board since 2008.

His new term runs through January 2015.

The appointment does not require city council's confirmation.

In all, Mr. Ravenstahl today submitted legislation nominating or appointing 10 people to city boards and commissions.

Most require council confirmation.

Eight of the nominations were announced Friday, but Mr. Burgess' reappointment was not. Also disclosed today was the nomination of South Side resident Benjamin Verney to the Propel Pittsburgh Commission, which encourages people age 20 to 34 to participate in government.
