Pittsburgh City Council will schedule a public hearing on the proposed creation of a "specially planned district" for a Buncher Co. project in the Strip District.

Legislation to create the district was introduced in council this morning. The legislation would establish setback requirements, building height limits and other regulations for Riverfront Landing, a mixed-use development.

The date of the public hearing was not immediately set.

Councilman Patrick Dowd continued to hold legislation that would establish a tax-increment financing plan of up to $50 million for the development. Mr. Dowd has raised various concerns about Buncher's plans.
