Pitt students postpone trip to Bahrain over unrest

A group of law school students from the University of Pittsburgh has delayed a trip to Bahrain until next month because of unrest in the Mideast nation.
Pitt law professor Ron Brand was scheduled to leave this week with a team of three students and one recent graduate for a first-ever moot court competition involving universities from six Mideast nations -- Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Tunisia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
Pitt has agreed to the exercise to prepare the other universities' law students for moot competition in Vienna in April.
Mr. Brand said U.S. Department of Commerce officials and Pitt administrators hope to conduct the exercise in Bahrain in March.
He said one of the universities -- located in Qatar -- will be unable to participate in the event next month, but Pitt law students will travel to that nation to help their counterparts there.
