The owners of the former Iron City Brewing Co. have incurred another fine at the historically designated Lawrenceville property for taking down 20 feet of the smokestack without a building permit.

A $155 fine will be added to the cost of a permit when the owner, Collier Development, applies for the permit, Marissa Doyle, a spokeswoman for Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, said today.

Witnesses reported to the city that demolition work was continuing even after a stop-work order was issued on Wednesday.

John Jennings, acting chief of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Building Inspection, wrote in an email today that an inspector was being sent back to determine whether that was the case.

"If so," he wrote, a ticket will be issued with the owner having to appear in front of the magistrate to defend his actions."

Collier Development was fined $20,000 in August for demolishing two buildings without a permit.
