Pedestrian hit by car in Carrick

A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle this morning in Carrick, police said.

The pedestrian was hit at Brownsville Road and Woodford Avenue about 6:15 a.m., an Allegheny County dispatcher supervisor said. The driver stopped at the scene.

The woman was transported to UPMC Presbyterian. The Pittsburgh police accident investigations unit was still on scene about 10:30 a.m.
