Mt. Lebanon overnight crash kills Castle Shannon man

A Castle Shannon man died overnight in a one-vehicle accident in Mt. Lebanon.
Tyler L. Smithyman, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 1300 block of Washington Road at 3:50 a.m.
An autopsy and toxicology results are pending.
Police said Mr. Smithyman was alone in the vehicle driving north on a winding portion of Washington Road near Mt. Lebanon Boulevard when he failed to negotiate a curve around 3:39 a.m.
The vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole and tree. It came to rest on its roof, police said.
Mr. Smithyman was wearing a seatbelt.
Mt. Lebanon police are investigating.
No one from the department could be reached this morning.
