Mon Wharf closed through at least Friday; light freezing drizzle may affect roadways

It appears commuters heading to Pittsburgh will not be able to park at the Mon Wharf for the rest of the work week. And an area of light freezing drizzle could slow the morning drive.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh around 7 a.m. issued a special weather statement, advising motorists of the freezing drizzle across much of southwestern Pennsylvania and the West Virginia panhandle. Any untreated pavement, especially bridges and overpasses, may become icy.
The Mon Wharf will be closed through at least Friday, the Public Parking Authority of Pittsburgh said yesterday.
Removal of debris, including trees and frozen mud, and hosing decks has been difficult in sub-freezing temperatures.
As many spaces as possible will be open by Monday.
A light dusting of snow over the city and suburban area last night caused some slick spots on untreated roads and bridges, but for the most part, main highways were clear.
