Mayor nominates eight to various city boards

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl on Friday nominated eight city residents to various boards and commissions.

The nominations require city council confirmation.

Mr. Ravenstahl nominated Bob Jablonowski, of Greenfield, a member of the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority board, for a new term that would expire Dec. 15, 2015.

Lauren Byrne, executive director of Lawrenceville United, was nominated for a term on the planning commission that would expire Jan. 2, 2018.

Paul Homick, of Perry North, associate director for major gifts at Carnegie Mellon University, was nominated to the Citizen Police Review Board for a term that would expire Oct. 31, 2013.

Nominated to the Equal Opportunity Review Commission were Joann Monroe of Stanton Heights, executive director of Garfield Jubilee Association, and Erin Conley of the North Side, contributor liaison for Mentors' Community Wealth Building Initiative.

Nominated to the Propel Pittsburgh Commission were Samantha Malone, a communications specialist at FracTracker, and Troy Cox, a personal financial associate at First Niagara Bank. Both live in Shadyside.

Candace Gonzalez of the South Side, neighborhood initiatives coordinator in the mayor's office, was nominated for a term on the Clean Pittsburgh Commission.
