Man pulled from Perry South fire died hours later

The man Pittsburgh firefighters pulled from a burning home in the city's Perry South neighborhood after flames broke out late Thursday night has died.

Ronnie Mickle, 62, was taken to UPMC Mercy in critical condition Thursday night, Zone 1 police said.

Mr. Mickle died at 1:37 p.m. Friday, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office. An autopsy will be performed this morning.

Police in the city's Zone 1 station said crews were called to the home in the 2300 block of Osgood Street about 9:56 p.m.

Five people in the home managed to get out safely. The blaze was under control by 10:17 p.m.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire estimated the fire caused about $30,000 in damage.
