Man critically wounded in Hill shooting

A 19-year-old man was in critical condition last night after a shooting in the Hill District.
Police received a call for shots fired in the 700 block of Clarissa Street shortly after 9 p.m. The man, who police said is from the North Side, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital via private vehicle about 9:15 p.m. and was in surgery last night for at least one gunshot wound to the abdomen or back, according to Commander Thomas Stangrecki.
His condition had been downgraded to critical following surgery and doctors expect him to survive, police said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
