A man remained in the Allegheny County Jail Friday after police said he told them he shot and killed his roommate inside their Greenfield home last month during an argument about the day the victim's father died.
Michael Randolph, 37, was arrested Thursday on charges of criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license. A judge ordered him held without bail.
Pittsburgh police found 40-year-old Mark Senay lying in a pool of blood in the living room of his home in the 1400 block of Bristol Street on Jan. 6.
During an interview with Pittsburgh homicide detectives on Thursday, Mr. Randolph told police that he and Mr. Senay got into an argument on Jan. 2 about the day Mr. Senay's father died.
At some point, a scuffle began and Mr. Randolph told police he pushed Mr. Senay down the steps. Mr. Randolph said Mr. Senay grabbed a pistol. Mr. Randolph said he grabbed the pistol from Mr. Senay and shot him once in the head before cleaning up the spent shell casings and leaving with the gun, according to the complaint.
Police arrested him following the interview.
