A 7-year-old girl commandeered her mother's vehicle Sunday morning, ending up about a half-mile away from home.

An officer with Pittsburgh Zone 5 police precinct said no one was hurt in the incident. But, an emergency dispatch supervisor reported that at least a couple of vehicles were damaged during the child's unauthorized outing.

The incident began outside the child's house on Wickliff Street in Lawrenceville and ended about a half-mile away on Stanton Avenue in Stanton Heights, according to a Zone 2 officer.

The mother called emergency dispatchers at 9:11 a.m. Sunday.
