A Florida man was arrested Monday after the Allegheny County sheriff's office said he threatened to shoot up the county's courthouse in an email to an attorney.

Dave Candle, 48, of Navarra, was arraigned early this morning on a charge of terroristic threats and on misdemeanor charges of harassment and obstruction of justice. He remained in the Allegheny County Jail this morning with bail set at $250,000, according to online court records.

The Allegheny County sheriff's office said Mr. Candle, party to a civil suit in the county, sent an email to an attorney involved in the suit, saying "I will light the court up like a Viet Cong landing zone."

The threat prompted law enforcement to search the Allegheny County Courthouse on Grant Street and the attorney's office.

Sheriff's deputies learned he would be flying into Pittsburgh International Airport on Monday afternoon and apprehended him there at 4:30 p.m.
