The temperature is dropping, snow is falling and ... the water is rising.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh around 10:30 a.m. issued a flood advisory for the Ohio River area in the city.

Widespread moderate rainfall across the region through Saturday evening could total between 0.5 to 1.5 inches and is expected to cause the river to rise above 18 feet -- potentially affecting the Monongahela River Parking Wharf.

The Ohio River at the Point is expected to crest at 18.7 feet Saturday morning and fall below 18 feet at night. At 19 feet, water flows onto to the North Shore Riverwalk between Heinz Field and PNC Park.
