Firefighters extinguish 3-alarm blaze in Northview Heights

Residents of high-rise apartments in Northview Heights have been allowed to re-enter the building after a fire early this morning.
No injuries were reported in the three-alarm blaze, which caused the evacuation of the building shortly after 1 a.m.
Residents waited in Port Authority buses to keep warm while firefighters extinguished the blaze, which began in an apartment on the eighth floor, fire officials said.
The building is on Mount Pleasant Road.
