Fifteen potential bidders tour former Schenley High School

Fifteen development groups are considering whether to bid on the former Pittsburgh Schenley High School in Oakland.
Representatives of 15 groups toured the school Tuesday, said Jerry Tullius, project manager for Fourth River Development, which was hired as the school district's agent to market the property. On Wednesday, about a dozen of them attended a question-and-answer session.
Bids are due at noon Jan. 18 and will be opened two hours later.
The school, built in 1916 and closed in 2008, is in the Schenley Farms Historic District and is also in the Pittsburgh Public Schools National Register of Historic Places Thematic Group.
The school board voted 5-4 in September to seek bids.
