A Downtown attorney pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography Tuesday in federal court.
James C. Kuhn III, 64, of Brackenridge, admitted to subscribing to a paid online service on Dec. 11, 2006, and paying $99 to download pornographic images of children.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman, Mr. Kuhn made such a payment eight more times before agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement searched his law offices on the Boulevard of the Allies on Oct. 4, 2007.
The agency was conducting a nationwide investigation into what was called the "Home" collection of child pornography websites.
Mr. Kuhn was found in reviewing PayPal receipts, and the IP address on his computer traced back to his law firm, Kuhn, Engle and Stein.
A search of his office computer revealed 150 to 300 images.
Mr. Kuhn will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti on Aug. 27.
