Parts of Route 51 near the West End Circle were closed this morning after a single-vehicle crash.

A truck crashed into a median about 5:50 a.m., according to an Allegheny County emergency dispatcher supervisor. Crews were cleaning up spilled fuel after 7 a.m.

The driver was transported to Allegheny General Hospital with injuries.

About 7:45 a.m., two lanes remained blocked southbound, one by the truck and the other by emergency vehicles. One lane also was blocked northbound by emergency vehicles. The truck took out a section of the concrete median barrier. One estimate said cleanup should take about an hour but lanes were open again by about 8:30 a.m.
