A multi-vehicle crash that shut down the eastbound lanes of the Parkway East near the Grant Street off-ramp has been cleared, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT spokesman Jim Struzzi wrote in an email that PennDOT anticipated heavy delays.

Traffic has been at a near stand-still, backing up west of the Fort Pitt Bridge to Carnegie. Several ambulances and police cars were at the scene of the crash.

PennDOT said to consider other routes.
