Coal film to play today

"Burning the Future," a documentary film by writer/director David Novack critical of the coal industry as it attempts to reposition itself as a clean, indispensable energy source, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. today in the Melwood Screening Room, 477 Melwood Ave.
The program, sponsored by the Mountain Watershed Association and the Center for Coalfield Justice, begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the film and then a question-and-answer session with Mr. Novack at 9 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and can be purchased at the Mountain Watershed Association office in Melcroft, Fayette County, or at the Melwood Screening Room either in advance or the night of the show.
