A group of Pittsburgh residents has asked for a hearing before City Council to air concerns about possible Marcellus Shale drilling.
The city clerk's office said the petition will be introduced in council Tuesday.
Council also will hold a post-agenda meeting on the issue at 1 p.m. July 12.
Councilman Patrick Dowd has introduced a bill to regulate Marcellus Shale production in the city. No drilling has taken place, but gas companies have been acquiring property-access rights.
Residents of Lawrenceville and Lincoln Place circulated the petition for a hearing.
