A Pittsburgh firefighter remains on duty after his arrest on assault charges stemming from what police officers called a "violent domestic" incident this weekend at his Sheraden home.
William Clark, 46, is at least the fifth city firefighter arrested since December, but Fire Chief Darryl Jones said the details of his arrest "aren't concrete enough for us to take [disciplinary] action yet."
Police were called to Mr. Clark's home in the 2800 block of Bergman Street about 4:30 a.m. Sunday after a child called 911 saying "she was getting hit."
Mr. Clark told officers he had been arguing with a woman and that "the argument then turned violent," according to an affidavit supporting his arrest.
The woman was taken to UPMC Mercy for treatment and examination.
Mr. Clark was arrested and held in the Allegheny County Jail, where he posted bail later Sunday.
