About 20 Shadyside apartment buildings are without water after a 6-inch main ruptured this morning.

Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority spokeswoman Melissa Rubin said crews should finish the repairs to the water main break by 1 p.m.

The leak was reported about 9:30 a.m.

The affected buildings are in the 6300 block of Marchand Street, between Shady Avenue and Dennison Street.

Marchand also remains closed to traffic.
