Two more youths have come forward to accuse former Scott day care worker Matthew Keith Byars of sexually abusing them, according to Pittsburgh police.

Mr. Byars, 25, was arraigned this afternoon on additional charges of corruption of minors, sexual assault, child pornography and other crimes after allegedly taking two boys to his and his parents' West End homes and abusing them at his residence.

Mr. Byars, police said, videotaped one boy while the boy watched a pornographic video and masturbated in Mr. Byars' living room.

This happened, police said, after they had attended church together and then had helped Mr. Byars' mother in her home.

The other boy met and became friends with Mr. Byars at Sewickley Academy's SummerBridge program the summer before he began eighth grade, when he was 15, according to a police criminal complaint.

After that, the boy and his older brother often would spend time with Mr. Byars at his home and his parents' home. On a few occasions, Mr. Byars turned on adult pornography, openly masturbated and urged the boys to do the same, but the victim and his brother would leave the room, according to the complaint.

Then, during a "rough spot" at home after he turned 16, police said, the victim went to live with Mr. Byars -- somewhere, the boy said, in the West End.

"John Doe did not know the exact location of the house but he said it was near a bridge, a library and a park," the complaint states.

After a month, the boy decided he wanted to go home and Mr. Byars began making sexual advances, according to police. Mr. Byars turned on adult pornography, then exposed himself and urged the boy to do the same, "like a competition," according to the complaint.

The boy again told Mr. Byars he wanted to go home but Mr. Byars refused unless the boy let him perform oral sex, the police said.

"John Doe said he did not want to but when Byars again refused to take him home, he felt like he had to give in," the complaint states. "John Doe also stated that he did not know how to get from Byars' home to John Doe's home by himself."

Mr. Byars already faces dozens of charges in the alleged molestations of eight young boys. Multiple police agencies say he molested boys between the ages of 7 and 12 whom he met in recent years through his work as a teacher at Tender Care Learning Center in Scott and in other ways.
