Ten people were arrested and one man remains at large following a two-month undercover drug investigation in Zone 2, police said.
During the investigation, undercover officers bought heroin and crack cocaine from Zone 2 residents or people who came to the zone to sell illegal drugs, according to a press release from Pittsburgh Bureau of Police spokeswoman Diane Richard.
Last week, officers obtained arrest warrants for about 10 suspected drug dealers and five search warrants for suspected drug houses, Ms. Richard said. On Feb. 15, police executed a round-up of suspects, she said.
Dontae Benton, 18; Deon Blair, 20; Monte Booker, 23; Quinten Briskey, 18; Lafon Ellis, 18; Cortesia Jordan, 18; William Lewis; Kellin McBryde, 22; Keondre Scott, 18; and Maurice Williams, 22 were each charged with various counts of possession of a controlled substance, intent to deliver a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance, Ms. Richard said. Mr. Ellis was also charged with a firearms violation, she said.
William Miller, 19, is still at large, she said.
Officers seized $4,000 cash, drug packaging materials, a semi-automatic pistol and several bricks of heroin when they executed the five search warrants at the suspected drug houses in Hill District, North Side and Sugar Top, Ms. Richard said.
