Family struggled at concert until stranger provided a lift

On May 11, Social Distortion played at Stage AE on the North Shore. My husband is a huge Social D fan and my kids are now also. My older son has seen the band perform three times now, but it was my younger son's first time.

I had mixed feelings about taking my kids to the show. I love the fact that they can enjoy it, but at the same time I do not want to ruin anyone else's experience with my kids being there.

That being said, as soon as we arrived I just headed toward the back of the venue to be out of the way. For the two opening bands, everyone on the lawn was sitting down, so the kids could see the stage and it was fine.

Once Social D started to play, everyone of course stood up and rocked it. The kids, 7 and 4, are on the shorter side and now could not see the stage. No big deal -- it was my choice to bring them and I knew this would happen.

So my husband and I picked the kids up and held them to see the stage. The 4-year-old is not too bad, but the 7-year-old gets heavy after a while.

Next to us was a wooden platform for photographers. I heard over the music and the crowd a voice saying, "Excuse me, excuse me." I looked over, and the one lady taping the show offered us her tickets to the box seat area so the kids could sit down and see the show better.

She was a life-saver for us. She didn't have to give us her seats -- we chose to take our kids to the show -- but she was kind enough to help us out that night. So I just wanted to say a big thank you to the lady videotaping the show.

Support given older couple enhanced their visit to Strip

On March 23 my husband and I went to Pittsburgh to shop in the Strip District, and our usual custom when there is to eat lunch at Wholey's.

My husband and I are both on the far end of the senior citizen scale, and I have been an amputee for several years, which makes walking long distances a challenge.
