The gift cards kept arriving from an anonymous source
Right after I paid my bills Dec. 1, I wondered how I was going to finish the Christmas shopping and get the food for Christmas dinner.
Being a strong believer in faith, I said a prayer and within the week it was answered. My son called me while I was at work and said, "Mom, we got a card from Santa, and it had a gift card in it for Toys R Us."
Being at work, I could not see what he was looking at, and I told him I would look at it when I got home, thinking a friend had sent it. When I got home, he showed me the card and the envelope, and he was right -- it was from Santa.
My address was taped to the front of the envelope with no return address, and the card was signed by Santa. So I started thinking about who could have sent this. Then I looked at the rest of the mail and there was another card addressed the same way and signed by Santa, but this time the gift card was for Wal-Mart.
I was so thankful for these gifts that I said a prayer of thanks, asking for the person who sent the cards to be blessed.
The next day when I got home from work four more envelopes were in my mailbox, all with gift cards in them. I was in more shock than the day before and again said a prayer.
So a week went by and one more card showed up. This one was for a food store, and again the envelope was like the others and signed by Santa. By the time the cards stopped, my prayer was definitely answered. I was able to finish the Christmas shopping and get the Christmas dinner.
I would like to thank the person who did this, but I have no clue who it was. The only thing I can hope for is this letter will get printed in the newspaper and the person reads it. This person gave me a Christmas blessing that I will be forever grateful for. Thank you, Santa!

Couple in crowded restaurant invited others to share a table
My husband and I went to Bravo! Cucina Italiana at the Galleria on New Year's Eve and had about an hour's wait.
I sat on a bench outside the restaurant and began speaking to a woman who was meeting a friend. When her friend arrived and they moved on, I insisted that a gentleman sit down on the bench who had resisted earlier; he was standing with two canes.
When he sat down (his name is Jack), we began chatting about Phoenix and other subjects. His wife, Cheryl, came over, and she and I began chatting. They had reservations for 5 o'clock.
When they were called and got to their table, four chairs were available. Cheryl came out and invited me and my husband to join them due to the extra chairs at the table. They were worried we'd miss our 7 o'clock movie, and they were happy to share their table.
We had a great time together, and it is a New Year's Eve we will never forget. Thank you, Jack and Cheryl, for a great time at dinner!

Homeowner came out late to help resolve car trouble
A few weeks ago my wife noticed while driving that a tire had blown out.
She pulled over on a side street in Green Tree. It was 11 p.m.
When I got there to attempt to put the spare tire on, a guy came out from the house we were in front of and not only provided much needed light but assisted in every way possible. If it wasn't for him, I don't think I would have been able to put the tire on myself, as I had a hard time just figuring out the jack.
When the tire was on, he had me pull down to his garage, where he put air in the tire.
I want this gentleman to know how very thankful I am. I hope someone he told this story to will see this and pass it along to him.
