Stacy Innerst is the artist. You are the caption writer.

The NFL's replacement referees gave Americans something to rally around in these fractious times. And the players of the PG Caption Contest (click on second image to see the cartoon) largely saw Stacy's drawing as further reason to belittle the replacers (though at least two contestants imagined the guy as a displaced employee of Foot Locker).

Please digest CapCon 195 and send up to three entries to page2@post-gazette.com or mail to: Caption Contest/Portfolio, Post-Gazette, 34 Blvd. of the Allies, Pittsburgh PA 15222. Please include name and address and identify your municipality or city neighborhood. Deadline: Oct. 22. Winners will receive a PG umbrella sometime after the presidential election but before the collapse of civilization predicted by Mayan calendar.
