As you might expect, CapCon 184 brought many variations on "Can you hear me now?" Click on second image above to see. (Laura Romeo of Rosslyn Farms certainly expected it. One of her entries was: "Everyone who submitted, 'Can you hear me now?' thought it was a sure winner." Very postmodern.) But in the end, the judges went with a variation on "shell phone," another popular theme.

CapCon 185 engages the popular newspaper topic of canines, so fetch some captions and send up to three to page2@post-gazette.com or mail to: Caption Contest/Portfolio, Post-Gazette, 34 Blvd. of the Allies, Pittsburgh PA 15222. Please include name and address and identify your municipality or city neighborhood. Deadline: June 4. Winners receive a PG umbrella that you can take to the beach and lose like any umbrella.
