ASTON, Pa. -- A zamboni caught fire while resurfacing the ice after a high school game at a suburban Philadelphia rink.

The Ice Works filled with smoke about 11:30 p.m. Friday and the facility was evacuated. No injuries were reported. The zamboni was badly damaged.

Green Ridge Fire Department captain Sean Joyce told WPVI-TV the zamboni was running on propane at the time of the fire and that the propane tanks and a hydraulic fuel leak on the ice made the call more dangerous.

Ice Works co-owner George Scherbak says the cause of the fire has not been determined.

Scherbak says three of the facility's four rinks are operating. The other is expected to open later today.
