Woman who died in McKeesport jail cell committed suicide, medical examiner says

A woman who died in a McKeesport jail cell late Friday hung herself, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office said.
Judy Anne Datig, 52, of McKeesport, was pronounced dead at 9:51 p.m. in a jail cell at the McKeesport Police Station on Lysle Boulevard, the medical examiner's office said.
In a news release, McKeesport police said Ms. Datig was jailed at the station on a public drunkenness charge. She was found unresponsive in the female cell block at 9:33 p.m. Police and medics unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate her.
Following an autopsy, the medical examiner concluded she died after hanging herself.
County police could not be reached for comment.
