An autopsy was completed today for a Kennedy woman who died after an ambulance transporting her to a local hospital collided with another vehicle early Saturday evening.

The results of the autopsy showed the cause of death for Leslie Thompson, 63, was natural and due to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, a spokeswoman for the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said.

Ms. Thompson collapsed in her home Saturday evening and was on her way in a Robinson Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Ohio Valley General Hospital when the accident occurred at 4:11 p.m. in the 1800 block of McKees Rocks Road in front of the Giant Eagle store in Kennedy.

Four ambulance personnel were injured, according to a report from the Allegheny County medical examiner's office. They were taken to Allegheny General Hospital, North Side. No information on their conditions was available.

There was no indication in the report as to the identities of the drivers or passengers in either vehicle, other than Ms. Thompson.

The spokesman said Ms. Thompson was transferred to another ambulance following the crash but died in the emergency room at Ohio Valley General Hospital at 4:33 p.m.

Robinson police responded to the accident scene, though the crash occurred in Kennedy. Kennedy police will be reviewing the reports to determine a course of action, according to the medical examiner's report.

A dispatcher at the Robinson police department confirmed this morning that no charges were immediately filed in connection with the accident. Kennedy police and Robinson EMS could not be reached.
