Web site marks 250th anniversary of Forbes Trail

A new Web site that provides a historical look at Pennsylvania's Forbes Trail began today as part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the trail and French and Indian War.
The site, www.forbestrail.org, takes visitors into the world of young George Washington and the 1758 Forbes Expedition. The trail stretches from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, primarily along Route 30, and is home to a rich collection of historical sites.
Slippery Rock University history professor Dr. David Dixon wrote the history content for the site, which was designed by The Pipitone Group in Pittsburgh.
