WDUQ public radio station becomes WESA-FM

Essential Public Media today took ownership of public radio station WDUQ, located at 90.5 on the FM dial. The call letters will change to WESA-FM for the city's only independent public radio news and information station.

Essential Public Radio continues to broadcast from studios on the campus of Duquesne University. Station employees will move to the WYEP Community Broadcast Center on the South Side in November.

A pledge drive will be held from Thursday, Oct. 13, through Saturday, Oct. 22.
