Two men fatally shot in Wilkinsburg

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of two men whose bodies were found in car parked on a Wilkinsburg street early today.
The victims were identified as Roman Herring, 21, of East Liberty and LeRon Brown, 21, of Wall.
The men were found in a car parked on Hill Avenue at Everett Street about 12:43 a.m., the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office said.
Further details on the incident weren't available.
Both men have been involved in gun violence in the past and had run-ins with the law.
Mr. Herring pleaded guilty to drug charges last month and was sentenced to six to 12 months in jail. It was unclear why he hadn't yet begun his sentence.
In May 2010, Mr. Herring, then 19, and another man were both charged with shooting each other in Homewood.
On April 22, 2009, Mr. Herring, who was wanted on a long list of criminal charges, surrendered to police without incident after a SWAT team surrounded an East Liberty home where he had barricaded himself. He as wanted on charges including assault, carjacking, burglary, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and criminal trespass when he was arrested.
Mr. Brown was among a group of five teens in 2007 who police said robbed people near the East Busway in Homewood to get money for marijuana. On Oct. 23, 2007, Christopher Evans, a 20-year-old Job Corps student from Texas, was killed during a robbery.
Lester Jackson III, 17, of Homewood was acquitted in the homicide but convicted of robbery, conspiracy and a firearms violations. Mr. Brown and three other teens were adjudicated as juveniles on one count of conspiracy to commit robbery in exchange for their testimony against Mr. Jackson.
